BEZGAR RC Monster Truck Review: Why It Performs Better on Concrete Than Hardwood

The BEZGAR RC monster truck flips onto its back on concrete and carpet, but hardwood is too slick. Here's who it's really for.

The BEZGAR 1:20 scale RC monster truck is worth buying for kids roughly ages three to seven. It’s not super fast, it has two simple control buttons, and it flips onto its back on textured surfaces like concrete or carpet. Buy it if you have outdoor space. Skip hardwood floors.

It Goes Nuts On Concrete

You make it go backwards, then forward, and it flips up onto its back. That’s the single coolest thing the BEZGAR RC monster truck does, and I ran it over and over on my concrete because it kept making me laugh. Whoa. That’s the reaction I had on camera.

The three-and-up age rating holds up, for two reasons. First, the design is built for younger kids, chunky, colorful, lights you can toggle on and off (harder to appreciate in direct sunlight, worth knowing). Second, in person it reads as “a four-year-old can chase this around the driveway,” not “this is going into the fence.” That’s a feature, not a flaw, at this age range.

Hardwood Kills The Best Trick

Worth mentioning: that back-flip move does not work well on hardwood floors. You have to have a little bit of texture like I do here on my concrete. Hardwood is just too slick, the tires spin, and it won’t be able to do that thing where it goes onto its back.

So if your whole house is hardwood and you have no yard or patio, you’re buying a car that drives fine and does half its party trick. Carpet works. Concrete works. A driveway works. That’s the real buying condition here, and it’s not on the listing in those words.

Big Tires, Real Suspension

Look at those big, big tires. The suspension underneath is a lot more than I expected on a toy this size, and it’s the reason the thing can slam onto its back repeatedly without feeling like it’s about to come apart. It’s plastic construction, so I’m not going to pretend it’s indestructible, but the chassis absorbs the landings instead of transferring everything straight into the body.

The tires do most of the work too. Oversized knobby rubber means it climbs over small stuff on a patio rather than getting hung up. That’s where a lot of cheap RC toys at this size quit.

Two Buttons Is The Whole Point

There’s only like really two buttons for controlling it, and that’s perfect, especially for younger kids. A lot of RC cars in this price range hand a four-year-old a remote with triggers, trims, and a mode switch, and the kid gets frustrated in ninety seconds. This one doesn’t do that.

On top of driving, you press a button and it plays music. There are three songs you can shuffle through. You can also turn the lights off and on. They call this the dancing one, because when you have the music going and you’re steering it around, it’s just kind of fun to watch. That’s me controlling it, not an auto mode, which I think is worth being clear about.

The response on the remote is really good. It’s not overly fast, which is good for younger kids learning how to control these, but it does control very well. BEZGAR runs it on 2.4GHz with a 115 ft range, so two of these can run at once without fighting each other. That matters if you have siblings.

Who Should Actually Grab One

The sweet spot is kids three to seven with a concrete driveway, patio, or carpet to run it on, surface matters more than age. The flip trick holds attention longer than you’d expect, even for kids on the older end of that range. At up to 25 minutes of run time per charge, the battery and the kid tend to quit at roughly the same point.

They do have multiple different variations of this with different designs. Mine’s just one of them, but man, that sure looks cool. If you’re shopping for a kid who wants speed and precision for racing, this isn’t that car. If you want easy, loud, flippy fun for a three-to-seven-year-old with a driveway or patio to run it on, buy this one.

Pros

  • Flips onto its back on command, and it’s entertaining every time
  • Only two control buttons, so a three-year-old can run it without help
  • Response on the remote is really good, not laggy
  • Music with three shuffleable songs plus lights you can toggle
  • Big tires and suspension that handle the repeated slams

Cons

  • The flip trick doesn’t work on hardwood, it’s too slick and the tires just spin
  • Not super fast, so older kids who want speed will lose interest quicker
  • The lights are hard to appreciate in daylight

Frequently Asked Questions

Can two of these run at the same time?

Yes. It uses a 2.4GHz system specifically so multiple trucks can run together without signal interference. If you’re buying for two kids, grab two different designs so they can tell them apart.

Does it need separate batteries for the remote?

The truck runs on a rechargeable pack good for up to 25 minutes of play. Remotes in this class typically take AAs that aren’t included, so check the listing before gift-wrapping it on a birthday morning.

Can it be driven on grass?

Short, flat grass should be fine given the tire size and suspension, but it’s rated for floors, carpets, and small outdoor areas. Thick lawn will bog it down. A driveway or patio is the sweet spot.
