Kermit Frog Hand Puppet 24″ The Kermit Frog Stuffed: Bigger Than I Expected
A 24-inch Kermit frog hand puppet that's also a plush. Soft, light, and bigger than expected once you count the legs.
The Kermit Frog Hand Puppet 24″ The Kermit Frog Stuffed is worth buying if you want a soft plush and a working hand puppet in one toy. It measures about 23.6 inches head to toe, it’s light enough for a small kid to carry around, and my granddaughter plays with it constantly. Buy it.

Quick Verdict
It’s bigger than I thought, especially with the legs, and it’s the best possible weight for a little kid to drag around the house. She’s having a blast with it, and she had no idea who Kermit was a week ago. The puppet mouth is the part that keeps her coming back.
Buy if you:
- want one toy that works as both a cuddle plush and a working hand puppet
- have a toddler or young kid who likes making voices and little shows
- are shopping a gift for a Muppets fan of any age
- want something soft enough your kid will sleep with it
Skip if you:
- wanted something compact, it’s a lot of frog once those long legs unfold
- need an officially licensed Muppets collectible rather than a play toy
- want a puppet with arm rods or posable limbs, the arms just flop

My granddaughter had no idea who Kermit was
She does now. I handed her this Kermit frog hand puppet with zero Muppets context and she adopted it on the spot. No cartoon, no movie, no explanation needed. It’s a soft green frog with a mouth that opens, and that’s apparently all a kid requires.
First thing I noticed pulling it out: it’s bigger than I thought. Especially with the legs. The listed 23.6 inches head to toe sounds modest until those long skinny legs unfold and the thing takes up half the couch.
And it’s the best possible weight. Light enough she carries it one-handed across the house, heavy enough that it doesn’t feel like a dollar-store balloon with fur on it.
People buy it as a plush. It’s both.
Most buyers seem to pick one or the other, plush or puppet, and this is both at once. The mouth is a real movable puppet mouth, so you slide your hand in and he talks. Then your kid takes him back, folds him up and cuddles him. We were having some fun with the puppet side in the video and she wanted it back as a stuffed animal about a minute later.
Here’s the limitation of that dual design: because the body is soft, foldable and compressible for hugging, it’s not a stiff performance puppet. The arms flop. There are no rods, no wires, nothing to pose. You control the mouth and that’s it. For a kid doing voices at the kitchen table, fine. For an actual puppet show with arm movement, this isn’t that tool.
The microfiber is legitimately soft, she has other plush animals on her bed and this is the one she reaches for.
What the money gets you here
Two toys for one purchase, which is the whole argument. A 24-inch plush on its own is already a reasonable gift. Adding a working mouth turns it into something she interacts with instead of just owns, and that’s the difference between a toy that lives on the bed and one that lives in the room with her.

Would I buy it again for a grandkid?
Yes, and I’d buy it for a kid who’s never heard of the Muppets, which is exactly what happened here. The size surprised me in a good way, the weight is right for small arms, and the softness is why she sleeps with it instead of parking it on a shelf.
The flop-arm thing is real and worth knowing before you order. If you pictured a full-body performance puppet, adjust. If you pictured something your kid talks to and then falls asleep holding, that’s what shows up.
My granddaughter has slept with it every night since it arrived. That’s the whole verdict.
Pros
- Bigger than expected once the legs are out, a real 23.6-inch presence
- Best possible weight for a small kid to carry around solo
- Super soft microfiber, she cuddles with it rather than just owning it
- Movable mouth works, the puppet side held her attention immediately
- No Muppets knowledge required for a kid to love it
Cons
- Arms and legs flop, there’s nothing to pose or control besides the mouth
- Bigger than the photos suggest, so expect it to take real space
- Sales rank has slipped recently, so it isn’t a hot-selling item right now
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you wash it?
It’s 100% polyester microfiber, so spot cleaning is the safe route. There’s no stated machine-wash guidance on the listing, and the puppet mouth opening means water gets inside the body easily. I’d surface clean and air dry rather than risk a tumble.
Is this an officially licensed Muppets product?
The listing describes it as designed to capture Kermit’s look, not as an official Disney or Muppets license. Treat it as a play toy, not a collectible. If you need the licensed version for a display shelf, this isn’t the one.
Will an adult hand fit the puppet mouth?
Yes, at 23.6 inches head to toe the head is sized for an adult hand to work the mouth comfortably. That’s how I was operating it. A younger kid can still manage it, they just get less control over the mouth opening.
