UK loees Ribbed Tank Top Review
A 6'3", 265 lb take on the UK loees ribbed knit tank top in XL: armhole placement, length, and whether the midsection runs tight.
At 6’3″ and 265 lbs I took the XL worried it would be tight in the midsection, and it wasn’t. Good length, high pit, real weight to the fabric. Buy it.

Quick Verdict
I was a little bit worried the XL would be too tight in the midsection. It isn’t. The armhole sits up at the pit instead of dropping real low, and look what that does to the arm.
Buy if you:
- Are tall and keep buying tanks that ride short
- Hate armholes cut down to the ribs
- Want a tank with some weight, not paper-thin
- Don’t want black and need other colors
Skip if you:
- Want a loose, airy drape; the spandex grips the midsection
- Prefer cotton over polyester and spandex
- Like the deep-cut gym armhole look

The Armhole Is Why I Kept It On
The armhole doesn’t go down real low like some of the others, and I don’t like that low cut. On this tank top it sits right around the pit. Look what it does to my arm. That’s the whole difference between a tank that frames your arm and one that just hangs off your shoulder.
Who It’s Not Built For
It’s polyester and spandex, so it stretches and snaps back into place. That means it hugs. If you want a breezy cotton tank that hangs off you, this isn’t it. And if you’re the guy who wants the armhole cut halfway down your side, you’ll find this one conservative.
XL on a 6’3″, 265 lb Frame
At 6’3″, 265 lbs, tanks almost always fail me in one of two ways: they ride short or they strangle my midsection. The XL here does neither. It covers past the waistband, the midsection gives without bunching, and the fabric has enough weight that it drapes instead of clinging like a second skin.
Pick the Color Before You Pick the Size
Bunch of different colors, bunch of different sizes, so if black’s not your thing there’s something there for you. Size true if you’re built like me. If you’re tall and tired of tanks that ride up or swallow your arms in fabric, this is the one to grab, size true and move on.
Pros
- Armhole sits high at the pit, flatters the arm
- Long enough for a 6’3″ frame in XL
- Real weight to the fabric, not cheap-feeling
- Stretch and snap-back from the spandex blend
Cons
- Snug through the midsection; I was worried about it for a reason
- Polyester and spandex only, no cotton option
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you machine wash it?
Yes, polyester-spandex blends wash fine.
Will it work under a shirt or jacket?
It layers fine because the armhole is high and won’t peek out at the side. The ribbed texture does show through thin dress shirts though.
Should I size up if I’m between sizes?
Go with your normal size. I’m 6’3″, 265 and the XL fit right in length and body, and the spandex absorbs the rest.
