Smart Scale: Great Display, But It’s 11×11

A size-12 foot hangs over the edge of this 11 by 11 smart scale. Everything else about it, especially the display, is really nice.

The Smart Scale is worth buying if you want body fat, BMI and 20 other metrics logged automatically with one of the best-looking scale displays out there. The catch: it’s an 11 by 11 platform, so size 12 feet hang over the edges. Regular feet, it fits perfect.

Quick Verdict

Size 12 foot, six foot three, and my heels hang slightly off the back of this 11 by 11 platform. It still read my weight fine every time. The display is one of the best looking I have seen on a scale, and the app makes tracking straightforward.

Buy if you:

  • Have regular size feet and want the smaller 11 by 11 footprint in a tight bathroom
  • Want body fat, BMI and muscle mass logged automatically instead of just a number
  • Like seeing a trend line over weeks instead of guessing if you’re going the right direction
  • Share a bathroom with family and need multiple user profiles on one scale

The Display Is the Part I Keep Talking About

I stepped on, the number flashed, settled, and then the thing rolled through my metrics one after another. Body fat percentage, BMI, all of it, finishing on a clean summary screen. That’s the moment that sold me on this Smart Scale. I’ve handled a lot of these and this is one of the best looking overall displays I have seen on a scale body weight product, period. Glass top, like you’ve come to expect, four biometric sensors, two for your heels and two for the balls of your feet. It’s easy to use right out of the box.

Where an 11 by 11 Stops Working

I wear a size 12 and I’m six foot three. I might be called an ogre. My feet hang over the edges and the top just slightly on this one. Most scales come in either 11 by 11 or 12 by 12, and this is the more compact of the two. It still tracked my weight and everything just fine, so this isn’t a failure, it’s a preference. I just prefer a 12 by 12. If you’re a larger size person like me, look at the bigger platforms. If you’re not an oversized person with regular size feet, then this one is totally fine. It’s gonna fit you just perfect.

The App Thing Most People Miss

You have to have the app open for the extra metrics to record. Not just installed, open, on your phone, while you’re standing on the scale. That trips people up because they assume a smart scale syncs whatever it measures whenever it feels like it. It doesn’t. You can skip the app entirely and just get on and take your weight every day if that’s all you want. But to take advantage of what this scale body composition setup actually offers, you download it and you open it. That’s the deal.

Versus the Dumb Scale Already in Your Bathroom

A plain digital scale gives you one number, and one number lies to you on a daily basis. Weight swings with water, food and time of day. As a certified personal trainer that’s the thing I’d push back on hardest: a single morning reading tells you almost nothing in isolation. What this one adds is the chart view at the bottom of the app, which draws a trend line over time so you can see whether you’re actually moving in the direction you want. That plus body fat and muscle mass gives you context a basic scale never can.

How the Four Sensors Do the Math

Four precision sensors read you, rated to 0.1 lb accuracy and up to 400 lb capacity. Two sit under your heels, two under the balls of your feet, and the current runs between them to estimate everything beyond raw weight. That’s why the listing says barefoot, on a flat hard surface. Socks break the contact and carpet throws the load. The app side organizes it the same way: your main weight up top, a goal weight you set by tapping the middle section, then a breakdown underneath where your weight and BMI are placed into a range so you know where you sit rather than staring at a bare decimal. It supports 24 user profiles with modes for baby, toddler, child, teen, standard and athlete, which matters if more than one person in the house is using it. The one mode I’d point out for anyone lifting seriously is athlete, since standard body fat formulas tend to read high on people carrying real muscle mass. What separates a good sensor array from a junk one is consistency weigh-to-weigh, and I stepped on this thing six mornings in a row from the same tile square and got the same number every time. The estimates are estimates, not a DEXA scan, so treat the body fat number as a direction rather than gospel. Watch the line, not the dot.

Two Small Annoyances

Holding your phone while standing on a glass scale is mildly awkward, and that’s the price of the full metric set. The other one is the footprint again. Hanging slightly off the edge doesn’t break the reading, but it makes you adjust your stance and I noticed it every time. Worth knowing before you order: it’s sitting a little above its usual price of the past three months right now, so if you’re not in a rush, check the current price at the link before you commit.

Who I’d Hand This To

Anyone with normal-sized feet who’s trying to shed some pounds and wants more than a number. The display rolls through eight metrics after every weigh-in without you touching anything, and the app takes about three minutes to set up. Amazon shows over 100 bought in the past month, which is modest, so this isn’t a heavily advertised name, it’s just a well-built scale sitting around #79,934 in Health & Household. If you’re looking for a smart scale option and you’re not an ogre like me, put this one on your list to check out.

Pros

  • One of the best looking scale displays I’ve seen, with a clean metric roll-through after it settles
  • App is really easy to use, with goal weight, ranges, and trend charts
  • Works fine with no app at all if you only want weight
  • Four biometric sensors handled my weight without any fuss

Cons

  • 11 by 11 platform means size 12 feet hang over the edges and the top
  • Extra metrics only record with the app actively open during the weigh-in
  • Currently priced above its three-month norm

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it sync with Apple Health or Fitbit?

Yes. It connects to Apple Health, Samsung Health, Health Connect, Fitbit and Apple Watch, so your weight can feed whatever ecosystem you already use. You still need the scale’s own app installed to bridge the data across.

Can I use it on carpet?

No, use it barefoot on a flat, hard surface. Carpet flexes under the load cells and will give you inconsistent readings. Tile or hardwood, same spot every time, is the way to keep the numbers comparable.

Is this FSA or HSA eligible?

Yes, it’s listed as FSA and HSA eligible. If you’ve got funds to burn before the year closes out, that’s a reasonable place to put them.

Will it work for kids or a baby?

It has dedicated Baby, Toddler, Child and Teen modes alongside Standard and Athlete, and supports up to 24 user profiles. The baby mode is the hold-and-weigh style, so you weigh yourself then yourself holding the kid.
